How many times do I have to tell you
Even when you’re crying you’re beautiful too
The world is beating you down, I’m around through every move
You’re my downfall, you’re my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can’t stop singing, it’s ringing, in my head for you…
‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I’ll give my all to you (John Stephens & Toby Gad, 2013).
“I’m not perfect. In fact, I am far from it. But, I will love all of you if you will stand by me.”
It’s a modern fairy tale!

Imagine a young boy who has survived unimaginable trauma living in the public eye. Being the youngest in the family, Prince Harry’s desire would have been for privacy and family intimacies. However, as Prince Charles’ and Princess Diana’s son, he was raised understanding the responsibility that the monarchy had to its people. So, he charted a course that would show his courage while defying the pain of loss. He became the beloved Prince, captivating the hearts of all he touched around the world: children, adults, and the wounded soldiers who had served battle. Like Moses, he always wanted to be standing with the people he led.
On the other side of the ocean, in California, USA some 5,500 miles away, was another child suffering the trauma of divorce, being biracial in a place with racial and ethnic tensions, and navigating the challenges of blended families, was Meghan Markle. She was the princess in her parent’s eyes, and the precious “Flower” that bloomed in her mother’s home. Meghan gave herself to the things that occupied life – friends, study, work, and charity. Developing her own fame, she grew confident in who she was and began to make her mark on the world.
Then they met!
Set up by friends who knew that they were prepared by life, they were ready for love and romance. Two days turned into months of conversations before they saw each other again. On a trip to Africa, they were willing to risk it all to forge a journey together. Harry and Meghan, finally created history and became the celebrated, and already beloved, Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle in the UK today (https://youtu.be/N42MQJX4KoY ).
Long gazes, gentle touches, knowing smiles, mischievous grins, and a tender first kiss, revealed to the world what these two have known all along, that they’re destined to love each other and stand forever by each other’s sides.

In a world where there’s a lot to be concerned about, Harry & Meghan cause you to dream of love. This message was expressed in the Reverend Michael Curry’s message based on the text from Song of Songs 8 which reads,
“6 Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot sweep it away” (Song of Songs 8: 6-7a, NIV).
Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, wear their hearts on their sleeves. As the new Youth Ambassadors to the Commonwealth, they have committed to sharing what they have with all of us as citizens of the Commonwealth.
Let’s take the magic of their love today and seal it in our hearts. Let’s believe with them that love can change the world. Let’s open our eyes and see the love that binds hearts. Let’s see the love that sparkles in each others’ eyes. Let’s work for the love that liberates. Let’s employ the love that builds bridges. Let us serve the love that heals.
If we do any of this, we will show the world that love still works!
Cheers, Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! You are causing all of us to dream of love again.
